I remember when President Nixon resigned as president of the United States. A victim of his own paranoia? He was impeached and although he was a crook, he did fall on his sword metaphorically. Nixon did some good things, he ended the Vietnam war, he met with the Chinese. With the vision of hindsight he was not all bad.

There is no way that Tricky Dickie would have even thought about suspending habeas corpus. Everyone should have the right to challenge their imprisonment. In the narcissistic paranoid world of Trump this right enshrined in the American constitution is under threat.

In my view, and many others, Trump is not a President but a dictator. Hidden at first like a matroska doll. Open the doll, and his true nature shines forth. His corruption I suggest, is on a level never seen before, by any American president. He doesn't even hide it. He surrounds himself by acolytes in lockstep with his evil viewpoint.

We, in the United Kingdom are faced with the rise of right wing ideology. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that our freedoms could be eroded. In fact they might be eroding already?
